fuels all your \nproject outcomes whether it is cash, efficiency or operational control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consulting\n companies will use appropriation rates to bill their services, but the \nexperience shows that appropriation is a broader topic that what is \nusually encompassed in the change management stream of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Change is governed by five essential considerations that cannot be neglected.<\/em>\n Racing ahead, without taking them into account, is the safest way to \ncompromise your initial goal or to get you to waste more money in the \nlong run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Change has it&#8217;s roots in the company culture<\/strong>.\n The capacity to change and transform is deeply anchored into the \ncompany culture. Culture is not only what makes most companies \ndifferent, it is key to the ability to handle uncertainty, transform and\n grow. Some of our clients make culture a pillar of their strategic plan\n and others undertake transformation programs to develop a change \nmindset in their organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Change is not a top down approach.<\/strong>\n Although most changes come from executive committees or management \nlayers, all staff are impacted. Training and loud communication are not \nsufficient, successful companies are adopting the three following best \npractices:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Always welcome and take feedback into account<\/li><li>Manage\n people involved in the change as a community especially when the impact\n is broad, leveraging on the group to promote transformation is very \npowerful<\/li><li>When possible, involving people in the decision process\n works miracles even when the field of decision seems to be limited e.g.\n regulatory topics<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Change is a process that starts now<\/strong>.\n The earlier change management is included in your program governance, \nthe higher its chances of success: Your program RACI should set this \nstream to be informed about all decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Change requires creativity<\/strong>.\n Beyond top down training and massive communication, be inspired by the \nbest and leverage on new technologies, social networks, video or social \nengineering such as gamifications. There is little limit to what can be \ndone to get people to move out of their comfort zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Change is a grieving process. <\/strong>It\n takes time and energy, therefore it requires to make space to the \nchange. Yet often managers and stakeholders have another jobs in \naddition of supporting the transformation.
